Guatemala is a country in Central America where poverty is both widespread and severe. Approximately 75 percent of the population is estimated to live in poverty. Our purpose in Guatemala is to invest in the lives of orphans, widows, and the extreme poor who live there. We want to build relationships and invest in ways that help the people we serve to reach the full spiritual and physical potential that God intended for them.

How 963 Effect Helps
|
|
- by building relationships with two children’s homes and helping with work projects at the homes, (Hogar Miguel Magone is home to 50 boys, most between the ages of 8 and 12, that have lost their parent or been taken out of their homes due to an abusive situation. Amor del Niño is home to 50 children of which over thirty are still in cribs.)
- by partnering to build a community center that will serve as a training center and a feeding center for the families and children in the village of Tabacal, (Tabacal is a very poor farming community of approximately 50 Mayan families that were displaced from their homes during the civil war and now live in primitive shacks
- by partnering to train the families of Tabacal in sustainable agricultural practices.
