Our History
The organization was born out of Hayley Magouyrk's desire to expose the high school students she was teaching to foreign missions and the language they were learning, (Spanish), as well as impact people for Christ. Her first year as a teacher, she and her husband took their first group of students to Costa Rica, and have taken students on mission trips every year since, expanding to Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Cuba. The name of the organization refers to Psalm 96:3 which reads, "Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples."
Chris Magouyrk is the President of 963 Effect and Hayley Magouyrk is the Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Chris and Hayley are a husband and wife team that possess a passion for helping others and sharing Christ. Chris is a graduate of New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary with a B.A. in Christian Ministry and a minor in Business. Hayley is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a B.A. in Spanish and a Masters in Business Administration. Chris and Hayley have twin boys, William and John, and two daughters, Hannah and Abigail.
