 General Trip Information

Lodging and Meals

We will stay and eat the majority of our meals at Rabbit Creek Community Church. You will need to bring your own bedding, (i.e. air mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, etc.) In case of an emergency you can reach the team leader, Hayley Magouyrk, at 678-478-8306 or you can call the church at 907-345-7830.

Overseas Ground Transportation

We will use 15 passenger vans that belong to Rabbit Creek Community Church.

Weather

In June, the temperature will be in the mid 60’s for the high. Most Alaskans dress in shorts but you may be more comfortable in jeans. Most wear either a hoodie and shorts combo or pants with short sleeves. Please bring a light jacket or hoodie for the mornings and evenings. You will also want a rain jacket or waterproof windbreaker.

Baggage Allowance

You are allowed to travel with one piece of checked luggage weighing 50 pounds or less and one carry-on.

Keep in mind that carry-on bags must fit under your seat or in the overhead rack. (A purse or briefcase is not counted as a carry-on). Also keep in mind that you must keep up with the luggage you check or carry-on.

Dress Standards

If you have decided to join our team, then you have agreed to live within the guidelines of our standards. Please follow the guidelines addressed below.

a)Concerning Women - We realize that dress/skirt/short lengths are a constant point of controversy, but we do expect that you will have a wardrobe that is consistent with our standards. We expect your short length to be no higher than mid-thigh and your skirt/dress length to be no higher than the knee. We also expect that you will refrain from wearing low-cut necklines, bare midriffs, see-through material, open backs, skin-tight clothing, short shorts, or other revealing type clothing. Ladies need to pack Capri pants, Bermuda shorts, jeans, pants for hiking, t-shirts, work clothes, tennis shoes, and modest sleepwear. For church on Sunday, Ladies should wear a dress or knee length skirt with a blouse or t-shirt, or jeans with a nice shirt. (No tank tops).

b)Concerning Men - Men need to pack long pants, a collared or polo shirt for church, t-shirts, jeans, pants for hiking, work clothes, and tennis shoes. (Modest shorts and t-shirts can be worn during free time). For church on Sunday, Men should wear long pants or shorts and a shirt with a collar.
